Advantages and disadvantages of IBS

Proven IBS can be explained using “BCF” for BETTER, COMPETITIVE, FASTER. We are proud that our IBS components, namely the Pre-Stressed Half Slabs, Interlocking Engineering Blocks and Bricks are better in terms of quality, using only the highest quality ingredients such as concrete. We are competitive in terms of pricing and we can match the conventional method of construction price easily. We are also proven to be 30% to 50% faster thus reducing your project time significantly.
The term IBS is defined as INNOVATIVE PROCESS of building construction using the concept of MASS - PRODUCTION of industrialized systems, produced at the factory or onsite within controlled environment, it includes the LOGISTIC and INSTALLATION aspect of it, done in proper coordination with SYSTEMATIC PLANNING and INTEGRATION.
Constructability is generally reducing the problems of construction by incorporating the construction knowledge into the design of a construction project. The Malaysian construction industry is attempting to promote and use Industrialized Building systems (IBS) for better construction practice with more effectiveness and efficiency, but in terms of constructability and research into the application of constructability concepts for IBS little work has been done. In fact the Malaysian construction industry is still not applying the concepts of constructability in totality and there is lack of constructability research in Malaysia. In this research the application status of constructability concepts which have been previously defined for Malaysia are examined and assessed within the Malaysian IBS industry.
